DVM MISSION

Several years ago I started helping my partner Moira Clark who is a professional wedding photographer. It quickly became apparent that videography can capture  a wedding in ways that photography by it's nature cannot. Videography is the new kid on the block though, so it does not have the acceptance level of photography.

A wedding is like a real life movie, scripted but still with room for spontaneity, costumed and made up, showing a full spectrum of emotions, and made up from colourful and interesting people and events. Just waiting to be captured and turned into compelling viewing like a good movie. As the old show biz saying goes "make 'em laugh and make 'em cry!"

But the traditional "corporate/tripod" style of professional video,  or  well intentioned but unskilled amateur video misses much this material,  and fails to edit  into compelling viewing. DVM was created to raise the bar on traditional wedding videography by:

* Capturing this material by getting the camera off the tripod where appropriate and following the action. We want viewers to have a front row seat, and feel involved in the action, and we have developed unobtrusive techniques for doing this. We are also looking for the little but meaningful moments and significant details, and at  times even create material just like your photographer.

* Being involved with the players, but doing it in a friendly, humorous, and unobtrusive manner that people will readily respond to.

* Now all this sounds fine but in doing so we will not turn the wedding into  a TV studio, nor will be impose ourselves on your day. We work as a team with your photographer. Many of the latter enjoy having DVM present because they can shoot additional material. i* Creatively editing the captured footage using a variety of styles that we discuss with clients, from simple documentary to off the wall, but always with the object of producing compelling viewing.

The mission of DVM then is "totally capturing the spirit of the day". It seems to be working, for several brides have said they cried watching the promo DVD! And here are the comments of clients:

"We laughed, cried and cuddled our way through the video several times" Sarah.

" We would like to thank you for our amazing wedding DVD....capturing all those

important and personal moments....were so impressed with the originality of your

work....we will definitely be recommending you"                                                Katey

" We were absolutely wrapped with the end product......we will highly recommend

you to ....potential clients"                                                                                        Chris

So have a look at our promotion videos/storyboards and judge for yourself! Contact DVM  and see  how we can "totally capture the spirit" of your big day!
